Does your lipstick bleed? Have your lips lost their definition and natural coloring
around the lip border? Imagine having lip color morning through night, 24 hours a
day, throughout the year. Permanent lip color can give you the optical illusion of
fuller looking lips without the painful and temporary injection of collagen.

Permanent lip color can be applied using several different methodologies. Depending
on your personal preference, lip color can be applied only as a lip line to reshape
and contour lips for a more defined sensual look. Many clients are deciding to have
the lip line slightly blended into the lips for a softer less defined appearance. Another
option is to have the entire lip filled with color for a more lipstick effect. You can
chose colors that match your natural lip color or more vibrant lipstick tones.
Selecting a color is a process that takes into account your natural lip color, your
skin color, your lip shape and the desired base color. Unlike 10 to 15 years ago, lip
color is applied with topical anesthetics or through a regional anesthetic lip block
performed by a medical professional. A lip procedure takes approximately 1 to 2
hours. Immediately after the procedure the color will appear darker and brighter
than expected, but usually fades up to 20 to 35 percent within 4 to 6 weeks. At this
time a touchup is performed to put on the finishing touches. Your lips may go
through several color changes. Around the 10th day the treated area may look as if
the color has completely vanished. About the 14th to 16th day the color appears to
resurface. Your lips may feel chapped for several weeks so be sure to keep them
well moisturized with a lip balm.

Your technician is there to help you accentuate your natural beauty.  To that end,
here are some basic lip designs to consider.

Permanent Lip Color is a specific type of permanent cosmetics procedure
otherwise known as "micropigmentation."  Permanent lip color is unmistakeably a
specialized form of tattooing where pigment is placed in the dermal layer of the
tissue which lies on and within the vermillion border.  If properly maintained,
permanent lip color will provide several years of trouble-free color before requiring a
refresher touch-up.

There are essentially three (3) different types of permanent lip color application
available:
Lip Color (Full Lip Shading)
Lip Blend
Lip Liner
Lip Liner is the familiar line drawn on or near the
vermillion border of the lips.  It is done to enhance
and give shape and definition to the lips.

Lip Blending is a Lip Liner with the same color blended about 1/3 of the way into
the lips.  This is a very popular procedure since unlike a lip liner, women are not
required to fill in their lips with traditional lipstick.  Instead, a little lip gloss and
you're ready for the day.

Full Lip Color is a Lip Liner with the entire lip area shaded to simulate the look of
lipstick.
